Maedée’s Modern Dance Photos

It is through the strength of my dance colleagues and friends that we formed collectives to advance the traditional scene of dance in the early 1970’s in London. First, with DANCE ORGANIZATION, followed with X6 DANCE SPACE where an alternative art scene of performing artists emerged, called “NEW DANCE”. As well as performing with pick-up companies with choreographers such as, Rosemary Butcher, Richard Alston, Siobhan Davies and Ian Spink, it is for my SOLO programs that I became best known.

Over the course of seven different SOLO programs, I explored the limits of dancing solo by inviting choreographers, composers and designers to stretch me as a performer and create variety of content.

Here is a visual story board of some of those performances during a 20 year career. For more detail, you can click on each picture.
